Linux Unhatched

A passionate Cybersecurity Analyst on a journey to become a Digital Forensics Investigator. Started this blog to keep track of my growth in tech.
This is my first published article as a Cybersecurity Personnel and I decided to start by writing on the very first skill which I learned-Linux (still learning though).
This article is based on the free course by NDG. You can find the course here. It is a course for learners with little or no Linux experience.
Let's Get Started...
Linux can be found in everything around us ranging from televisions, watches and computers. It is also widely used in servers, Internet of Things(IoT) devices and smartphones.

What is Linux and Why Learn it?

Linux is an operating system that runs on a hardware computer system. An operating system is a software that allows other programs to be installed and run on a computer.
Now, there are various reasons why learning Linux is useful. The major reason is that it is used everywhere and others are; it is free, it is easy to install, it is open source and it has an active community available for support.
The following are a few professions that require knowledge of Linux skills:
Cybersecurity
Programming
Network Engineering
Data Analysis
Linux operating system comes in many forms. There is a variety of distributions (called Distros) available to fit the needs and demands of many IT sectors eg Kali Linux, Mint, Ubuntu, ParrotOS, CentOS, SUSE, Red Hat Enterprise.
